Mike said yes to Hanatu. Now it's your turn.

603 children are in school today because someone chose to show up.

The Story

They didn't choose this.

Everything was taken from them.

They had homes. Jobs. Villages. Schools. Many were teachers, doctors, pastors, farmers — ordinary Nigerians living ordinary lives. Then Boko Haram came.

In a single night, entire communities were slaughtered or scattered. Those who survived fled with nothing — many on foot, some clutching only their children. They ended up in makeshift camps on the edges of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, largely invisible to the world.

No electricity. No clean water. No schools. No future. The Nigerian government, rather than helping, referred to them as “homeless vagrants” and twice attempted to bulldoze their camps entirely.

Mike Arnold first visited one of these camps by chance — a ministry friend suggested a detour. He had never heard the term IDP before. He sat in a shanty with a woman named Hanatu. He listened. And when she asked him for one thing, he said yes.

“Prior to the Gwoza Massacre in the summer of 2014, Hanatu Ango was the principal of a local primary school. After witnessing the slaughter of loved ones, being pursued by bloodthirsty jihadis, they and thousands of others eventually found their way to an IDP camp.”

2014

The Year It Began

The Gwoza Massacre was one of dozens of coordinated Boko Haram attacks that emptied entire regions of northern Nigeria. Millions were displaced. The world barely noticed.

0

Government Aid to IDP Camps

No electricity. No fresh water wells. No food support. No permanent structures. The people in these camps have received virtually no transformational support from the Nigerian government.

603

Children Now in School

Because Mike said yes to Hanatu’s request, 603 children across three campuses are receiving a free, full-time, high-quality education — taught by local Nigerian educators.

15K+

Still Waiting

By conservative estimate, over 15,000 IDP children in the Abuja area alone have no access to any education. We know what works. We need the resources to scale it.

A Word from #EARTHSHAKER

TEST ME IN THIS

Says the Lord

For one month, stop sowing into thorny soil.
Sow into fertile soil instead, and watch your blessing multiply.

“You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never
have enough. You drink but never have your fill.”

Haggai 1:6

The Indictment

Christians are being slaughtered. Raped. Enslaved. Driven from their homes by the millions. And the gold-plated megachurches keep rising. The luxury estates keep growing. The fleets of jets keep expanding. The o!erings keep flowing. That is not coincidence. That is fruit — and you have been growing it with your own hands.

The Parable of the Sower is not about the seed. It’s about the soil. Jesus said the deceitfulness of riches chokes the word and makes it unfruitful — and that is exactly what your “pastor” has been doing to your seed, Sunday after Sunday, year after year. That’s why the blessing never comes. You’re not the problem.
The soil is.

Pure religion, undefiled, acceptable to God, is this: care for orphans and widows in their distress.

James 1:27

Not jets. Not domes. Widows and orphans. Any man who builds a palace while displaced widows starve in his shadow is not a pastor. He is a wolf. And every seed you put in his hand, you put in his belly.

The DARE

The Only Place in All of Scripture God Says "Test Me"

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven.”

Malachi 3:10

The storehouse God is talking about — in its full biblical context — fed the foreigners, the orphans, and the widows. That is where the tithe was always meant to land. Not on a Gulfstream.

This is a Mt. Carmel Moment.

To the demonized prosperity pimps who are exalted as “pastors” — I mock you as I issue this taunt: Call down the fire. I dare you. Show the fruit you have produced with all your vast riches.

And then I’ll show what God has done with mere scraps — no jet, no mountain of cash, no golden dome — I will show you lives transformed, hope kindled, faith on fire.

3.3M

The hoarded tithes of just the top ten richest “pastors” in Nigeria could fully support every single acknowledged IDP in the country — all 3.3 million of them — for a full year. Not by taking everything from them. Only by living like their sheep.

From any mega-church

Right now, minutes from the gold-plated megachurches of Abuja, more than 600 displaced children are sitting in classrooms we built inside IDP camps the government pretends don’t exist. One of those schools is a retrofitted goat shed. These children live in shanties next to open sewage ditches. Nobody else is coming to help them.

But they have teachers. They have a school. And now they have hope, vision, and a path out of camp. Every one of them knows what they want to be when they grow up — doctors, nurses, barristers, builders, artists. They are breaking the cycle of death to build a New Nigeria.

Thirty

Days.

Take what you would have put in that man’s offering plate and send it here instead — into children, into teachers, into the only soil God ever called pure religion. One month. See what God does with obedience that costs you something real.

No jets. No golden toilets. Teachers. Children. The work. This is the most fertile soil on earth. You will not find better ground to sow your seed.

YOUR GIFT IN ACTION

What Happens when

You say yes.

Every school is staffed entirely by local Nigerian educators. Free to every family. No barriers. No bureaucracy. Just children learning — and dreaming — for the first time.

Enrolled

A displaced child — often an orphan — receives their first school enrollment, completely free.

Equipped

Curriculum, classroom supplies, and basic furnishings are provided. Your gift covers it all.

Fed

A simple daily meal — for many of these children, the most reliable food they receive.

Formed

Biblical studies and Christlike values woven into daily education. Hearts are opening to the Gospel.

A future

A mindset that exceeds camp life — the only life many of them have ever known — begins to form.

Curriculum & Classroom Supplies

Every Arise Academy runs a full grade-school curriculum. Supplies must be funded externally — the families in these camps have nothing to contribute. Your gift keeps classrooms equipped.

Water, Food & Basic Infrastructure

The camps have no electrical power, no fresh water wells, and no consistent food supply. We are actively seeking donors for water wells, food distribution, and basic electricity solutions.

Construction & Growth

The Wassa campus is under construction with a 500-student capacity. 15,000 children are still waiting. Every construction gift moves us closer to reaching every child in these camps

The Call

Mike Said yes to Hanatu

Now it's your turn.

603 children are in school today because one man walked into a camp and listened. The next 500 are waiting on the other side of your decision. This is covenant, not charity. These are people, not projects.
