If You Want to Be Like Trump, Deliver Like Trump
By Mike Arnold
I’ve been watching the Democrats try to “be more like Trump,” and I honestly can’t comprehend the stupidity of it. They weren’t always like this. Once upon a time, there were thoughtful liberals I could debate, even respect. But now? The strategy seems to be: “Act brash. Be crude. Talk tough.” As if that’s what made Trump popular.
It’s not.
People don’t like Trump because he’s rough around the edges. Most of us would prefer if he were a little nicer, a little more disciplined in how he spoke. But we overlook the rough stuff for one simple reason: he delivers.
That’s the key. That’s what these Democrats—and plenty of Republicans, for that matter—don’t get.
Trump says he’s going to do something, and then he does it. And the things he does? They’re good for everybody:
- He closes the border.
- He makes our streets safer.
- He slashes waste, fraud, and abuse.
- He brings home trade deals no one else could land.
- He shuts down Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
And the list goes on.
I don’t love every tweet or every tangent. But I do love results. And I’m not alone. Most Americans are exhausted with empty promises, fake outrage, and political theater. What they want—what they desperately crave—is someone who actually gets the job done.
If Democrats really want to be more like Trump, it’s not about learning to insult better or fake a blue-collar accent. It’s about learning to deliver results that matter. Get the border under control. Make our cities safe again. Stop wasting our money. Defend this nation and its people.
But instead, they’re imitating the style and ignoring the substance. That’s what makes this whole thing so pathetic. They’re chasing the shadow, not the source. And the truth is, most Americans can smell the difference.
Want to be like Trump? Then do what he does:
Deliver good things for the American people.
Until then, stop pretending. You’re not fooling anyone.
