The speaker reel

A former mayor of a little town in Texas who has taken on and dramatically exposed the government of Nigeria for its role in genocide against Christians in that country, prompting President Trump, among other things, to step in and try to protect those who are being victimized by jihadists and the genocide they’re intent on inflicting.

Seven examples. Not a set list.

Mike is a storyteller and a communicator, not a performer with a routine. Every talk is built and polished for the room it is given in — engaging, relatable and relevant. These seven are representative examples; his range runs well past any list of titles. Tell him the audience and what they need to leave with, and he will build theirs.

The Stooge: My Amazing Journey from Missionary to EarthShaker

Epicenter: Uncovering a Shadow Caliphate and the Longest Running Genocide on Earth

One jihad, unbroken since 1804 — the caliphate, the enslavement, Biafra, and the killing this morning. Arnold built the count himself: 4.3 million killed, 13.2 million enslaved, 20.5 million driven from home.

The Persecuted Church in Nigeria: From a Frontline Eyewitness

Darkness is just the absence of light.

Mike went to the heart of darkness as an undercover investigator. Sixteen trips. Burned villages, displacement camps, government corridors, hidden cameras. He came back with the evidence — and with one line that reordered how he sees the whole fight.

Nobody fights darkness. You turn on a lamp. What he found in Nigeria was not only what the killers were doing, but what the believers were doing back — people who have counted the cost, buried their own, and kept going. They are not waiting to be rescued.

This talk puts an American church face to face with that church, and sends it home with something to do about it.

What they leave with

  • Meet a church that counted the cost and kept going
  • Know what actually helps, and what only feels like helping
  • Leave with one thing to do this week

Church Burning: What Will It Take to Rediscover the Way?

They called it the Way before they called it anything else. We got very good at buildings, organizations and raising cash, and lost the mission He gave us. Not whether we lost it — what now. And the title isn’t about buildings on fire; it’s about a Body ablaze.

God’s Master Plan: Victory Is Our Destiny

Christians were not called to wait out the world. The Kingdom is not a rescue operation, it is an advance — purpose, authority and fruitfulness, proven where nothing else held.

Defeating Islam: Satan’s End-Times Offensive — and How We Win

The DNA of Islam, the history of its spread, and the threat it poses today — and the Biblical strategies we must stand on if we are going to survive.

How Mike works

Memorable moments that change people

He travels with sixteen years of material and asks what your room needs to walk out with.

That does not mean unrehearsed

It means the talk is built for your audience rather than pulled off a shelf — researched, shaped and polished before he gets on the plane. You will get a call beforehand, a title and a paragraph for your program, and the theme you asked for. What you will not get is the speech he gave last Tuesday.

He came up winning in impromptu and extemporaneous speaking and never lost the habit. The material is in him; the room decides what comes out of it. A missions Sunday and a world affairs council can book the same title and hear two different hours, and both of them will hold the room and deliver real impact that matters.

For men’s groups

Mike has spent twenty years in rooms full of men — hunting camps, campfires, church basements and boardrooms. For men’s groups and men’s retreats he works without a lectern.

Formats

  • General session or keynote
  • Breakout or workshop
  • Sunday service or missions weekend
  • Screening of Me & Ms. Hanatu with conversation
  • Weekend retreat
  • Community tour

Also available

  • Panels and moderated conversations
  • Donor breakfasts and student sessions
  • Media and press while he is in town
  • Books to hosts in bulk at a discount, delivered before the event

In the room. Mike runs his presentations off an iPad, so the one thing worth sorting in advance is a way to cast or connect by cable. Mics, lecterns, staging — whatever you have. He has spoken in barns, in tents and on big stages, and he is not particular.

Weekend retreats

A keynote lasts forty minutes. A weekend changes somebody.

Twenty years ago Mike and his wife started taking teenage boys into the woods. Over a decade they ran camps on ranches, at fishing lodges and on a private island in the Outer Banks. There was no curriculum. Every session ended around a fire, and that is where the real work happened — the conversations nobody has in a pew, and the ones men will not start until it is dark and nobody is looking at them. The content changes. The campfire does not.

What it actually is

Not a conference with free time bolted around it, and not four sessions and a handshake. It is a weekend lived together — immersive, hands-on, and small enough that nobody hides in the back.

Mike is in all of it. Teaching, listening, eating at the same table, still there when the fire burns down. Sessions run as long as the room needs them, and some of the best work happens between them. Men come off these weekends saying two things: that it was the most restful time they have had in years, and that something in them moved. Both are the point.

Who it is for

  • Men’s groups and men’s ministries
  • Church leadership teams, elder boards, staff retreats
  • Executive and founder groups
  • Mission teams preparing to go, or coming back

What a host provides

  • The venue, lodging and meals
  • Travel for Mike and one companion
  • A gathered group — twelve to thirty is the range where a weekend works. Larger than that and it becomes a conference.

Terms

Honorarium set with the host and scaled to the group. Books available at a discount.

Mike holds only a handful of these a year, and they are set well in advance. Groups that want one are best served opening the conversation six to nine months out.

The EarthShaker Tour

Hosting information

To visit Nigerian diaspora communities around the world — and specifically Igbo and Biafran communities — to cast vision, to connect and edify, to bring a righteous regime change to the land known as Nigeria, and to raise funds for relief work and the global narrative campaign.

What I am looking for

A host or manager in each community — a large city, a region, a state or a nation — to:

  • Arrange and promote the calendar of events
  • Enlist other groups to take part
  • Invite key individuals for the appropriate meetings and events
  • Underwrite travel expenses — business class for overseas trips
  • Handle lodging, meals and logistics from airport pickup to drop-off, for myself and one other

Terms

A love offering, honorarium or stipend for my time — amount to be discussed. Plus the opportunity to sell my books.

What the visit includes

  • Speaking engagements — churches, community groups, conferences — with the understanding that I will ask for financial support for our IDP schools.
  • Meetings with leaders.
  • At least one meeting to connect with potential funders for the media and narrative war campaign.
  • Time with the veterans. Enough time in each location for me to meet and interview Biafran war veterans and survivors, and collect their testimonies for historical preservation.
  • A little down time to see some sights.

What I bring

  • Reach. More than 358,000 organic followers, with many posts going viral. I have a following in most diaspora communities.
  • Promotion. I will promote every event and recognize key people — before, during and after the trip — and generate social media content throughout.
  • A crowd. I will draw people out, and help groups and individuals recruit and connect.
  • Time. I will spend quality time with my host and with key leaders in each community.
