Seeds, Soil, and AI

Seeds, Soil, and AI

Knowledge is the seed. AI is the soil. What you grow depends on what you plant.

By Mike Arnold

This past Sunday I had the honor of joining Dr. Stephen Akintayo at his business conference, sitting on an AI panel with some of the sharpest entrepreneurs I’ve met. These were serious builders—hungry to scale, ready to deploy. During the Q&A, one of them raised her hand and asked a question I hear often:

“What’s the fastest, easiest way to call someone, have them set up AI for my business, and just get it running?”

I didn’t sugarcoat it. I told her that was the worst thing she could possibly do. In fact, it could put her out of business fast.

Here’s why.

AI is not magic. It’s soil. It will grow whatever you plant in it. If what you hand over is confusion, outdated processes, or misaligned strategy, AI will multiply that dysfunction at machine speed. One crack in your system, one contradiction in your policies, one misstep in your values—and AI won’t smooth it over. It will scale it. What was once a small problem becomes a wildfire.

The only way AI becomes an asset, not a liability, is if you first get your seed right. And the seed is your knowledge—your vision, your values, your faith—aligned and encoded into the DNA of your enterprise. That’s what Enterprise Knowledge Alignment does: it aligns the truth of your organization before AI ever touches it.

You don’t shortcut DNA. You don’t go grab someone else’s quick fix and try to graft it into your business. That’s weeds. It might sprout fast, but it won’t last—and it can choke out what you’re really trying to build.

The entrepreneurs who win in this new era will be the ones who treat alignment as sacred. Who take the time to clarify what they know, what they believe, and what they reward—then plant that into the soil of AI. Because once your seed is right, AI doesn’t just grow your business. It multiplies it.

That was my message on Sunday, and it’s my message here: Don’t chase shortcuts. Don’t outsource your DNA. Plant your seed, align your truth, and then—watch AI turn it into a harvest.
