What Kind of God Promises an Eternal Erection?

A clinical profile of Islam as a control system — permanent victimhood, institutionalized deception, narcissistic rage, and a reward structure that exposes what the system is actually for

Her name was Deborah Samuel Yakubu. She was a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, Nigeria. A classmate asked how she passed her exams. She answered with a voice note: “Jesus is the greatest. He helped me pass my exams.”1

The next morning, a mob dragged her from the security room on campus where she was hiding. Police and professors watched. The mob beat her. They stoned her. They piled tires on her body and set her on fire. Then they turned the camera on themselves — smiling faces to the lens, matchbox raised, bragging to the world about what they had done.2

Her last words: “What do you hope to achieve with this?”3

Two men were arrested. Thirty-four lawyers showed up to defend them pro-bono. The prosecutors went AWOL. The suspects were acquitted.4 When the arrests were announced, protesters burned three churches to the ground in Sokoto.5

Then Professor Ibrahim Maqari — Deputy Chief Imam of the Abuja National Mosque, the most prominent mosque in the nation’s capital — went on Twitter and told the world she had it coming. “If our grievances are not properly addressed,” he wrote, “then we should not be criticized for addressing them ourselves.”6 Nobody fired him. Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka demanded his prosecution.7 Nothing happened.

Now I want to ask you something.

Forget the “religion” category for a moment. Set it aside entirely. If a patient walked into a psychiatrist’s office and described a belief system that operates this way — what would the diagnosis be?

We know the answer. We just haven’t had the courage to say it out loud.

The diagnosis is malignant narcissistic sociopathy — operating not in a single person, but as a system. Baked into the doctrine. Enforced by the institution. Reproduced in every generation by an architecture specifically designed to make the pathology permanent.

In clinical terms, malignant narcissism is the combination of four things: grandiosity — a foundational belief in one’s own supremacy that admits no challenge; the absence of empathy — the structural inability to register the suffering of people outside the in-group as morally significant; exploitation — a social and legal architecture built to extract from others rather than coexist with them; and narcissistic rage — explosive, disproportionate violence triggered not by genuine threat but by any perceived insult to the self-image. Add sociopathic features — pathological deception, absence of remorse, predatory calculation — and you have the complete profile.

Now add coercive control: the systematic dismantling of a person’s capacity for independent judgment, isolating them from outside information, making exit a capital offense, and replacing the individual conscience with reflexive obedience to the chain of command. That is how the pathology reproduces itself across generations.

Every one of these markers is present in this system. Not as occasional aberrations. As documented features of the source documents, the legal architecture, and the institutional behavior — on display in Sokoto, in the imam’s tweet, in the thirty-four lawyers, in the acquittal, in the three burning churches. The case file is complete. What follows is the evidence, criterion by criterion.

I am not talking about individual Muslims. I know many. Some are my friends. I have broken bread with them in Nigeria. The first and most numerous victims of this system are the people trapped inside it. This is an analysis of the system itself — the source documents, the operating manual, the worldview codified in the Quran and the hadith and enforced by fourteen centuries of institutional architecture. You can analyze a system the same way you analyze a personality. And when you do, the clinical picture is not ambiguous.

Criterion One: Grandiosity Without Limit

The first marker is grandiosity — not ordinary pride, but a foundational claim to supremacy that admits no peers, no equals, and no legitimate challenges.

The system claims to be the final, perfect, incorruptible revelation of God to man. Everything before it — Judaism, Christianity — is acknowledged only as corrupted predecessor. Every human institution and legal system on earth is, by definition, inferior and temporary until it is replaced by Sharia. The entire planet is divided into two categories: Dar al-Islam, the house of submission, and Dar al-Harb, the house of war. There is no third category. There is no legitimate permanent space for any non-submitting worldview.

This is not a theological opinion with which one may respectfully disagree. In this system, disagreement is not a position. It is an offense.

Deborah Samuel did not attack this system. She thanked Jesus for her grades. That was enough. Because in a grandiose system that has fused identity and belief so completely that they are indistinguishable, a challenge to the belief is experienced as an existential attack on every person whose identity is built on it. You don’t debate that kind of challenge. You destroy it.

Criterion Two: The Permanent Victim Who Is Always the Aggressor

The most sophisticated feature of this system — the one that has paralyzed Western civilization’s immune response for fifty years — is the simultaneous performance of victimhood and the exercise of aggression.

The system is always under attack. Always persecuted. Always misunderstood. Any resistance to its expansion is immediately reframed as oppression. Any examination of its doctrine is labeled hatred. Any honest observation about its history is Islamophobia — a word invented precisely to place the ideology beyond the reach of critical scrutiny that every other belief system in a free society is expected to tolerate.

Watch what happened after Deborah Samuel was burned alive. The immediate response was not grief or accountability. It was victimhood. Protests demanding the release of the arrested killers. Churches burned. The imam’s tweet framing Muslims as the aggrieved party. The prosecutors who quietly disappeared rather than face the political pressure of punishing men celebrated as heroes by their community.

Deborah Samuel was beaten, stoned and burned alive for an upbeat WhatsApp post. But in the narrative, it’s the men who lit her on fire who are the real victims.

Clinically, this is the victim/aggressor cycling that defines the narcissistic abuser. The moment they are held accountable, they become the real victim. Your resistance to their violence is reframed as the original offense. Their violence was merely a response — and a justified one.

The imam said exactly this, in precise language, the day after the burning. And nobody fired him.

Criterion Three: Taqiyya — Gaslighting as Doctrine

This goes deeper than lying. Every abusive system depends on making its targets doubt their own perception of reality. The clinical term is gaslighting. In this system, it is theology.

Taqiyya is the doctrinally sanctioned concealment of belief and intent from non-Muslims when doing so advances the cause.8 This is not a fringe teaching buried in obscure texts. It is in the source documents. It is the reason Western leaders keep being surprised when their “moderate partners” turn out to be playing a different game than they claimed. It is the reason the same clerics who privately celebrate an atrocity are publicly condemning it at the press conference.

The public face says: Islam means peace. We condemn all violence. Those are extremists, not real Muslims. The internal operating reality says: the house of war has not yet submitted. The red lines must be enforced. If our grievances are not addressed, we will address them ourselves.

Both things are said. To different audiences. Without contradiction — because the system has defined truth situationally. The statement that advances the cause is the true statement. The statement that protects the community from outside scrutiny is the right statement. This is not hypocrisy. It is policy. Theologically grounded, strategically executed, fourteen centuries refined.

And it works because the West is constitutionally incapable of believing that a major religion could build systematic deception into its operating doctrine. We keep extending credibility the system has not earned. We keep judging it by its press releases instead of its patterns.

Criterion Four: The Absence of Empathy — Structurally Enforced

A clinical narcissist cannot process the suffering of others as morally significant. This is not a character flaw they could overcome with effort. It is structural. The system has rewired the moral framework so that certain categories of people simply do not register as fully human.

In this system, non-Muslims are not innocent by definition. Innocence is defined as faithful submission. If you do not submit, you are not innocent. You are guilty. And your suffering is either deserved, irrelevant, or both.

This is why the matchbox men could film themselves laughing. This is why the thirty-four lawyers showed up to defend them. This is why the prosecutors went AWOL. This is why burning three churches in protest of an arrest felt — to the people doing it — like a righteous act. Deborah Samuel was not, within this framework, a human being whose death required grief or accountability. She was a category violation. A red line crossed. A problem solved.

The system cannot grieve for its victims. Not because the people inside it are uniquely monstrous. But because the system has given them a moral architecture in which the victims do not qualify for grief.

Criterion Five: Explosive Rage as Control, Not Emotion

The rage response to criticism is not anger. Anger is proportionate. What this system produces is disproportionate, organized, celebrated violence in response to perceived insult — and it functions not primarily as emotion but as control.

You do not need to kill everyone. Muhammad understood this 1,400 years ago. He had critics killed — not for violence, but for words. Asma bint Marwan wrote poetry mocking him. She was killed in her home while her children slept around her. Muhammad praised the killer in the morning. The lesson spread instantly. Kill enough critics publicly, celebrate the killers loudly, and everyone else goes quiet.

Today the same mechanism operates on a spectrum. At the soft end — career destruction, social media mobs, publishers dropping books, journalists self-censoring. In the middle — credible death threats forcing authors and cartoonists into permanent security arrangements. At the hard end — Theo van Gogh shot and stabbed in Amsterdam. The Charlie Hebdo massacre. Salman Rushdie stabbed on a stage in New York.

Most people never reach the hard end. They don’t need to. The soft end produces comprehensive self-censorship across an entire civilization. Editors don’t publish. Comedians don’t joke. Politicians don’t speak. Professors don’t teach. And in the silence, the system advances unchallenged.

Deborah Samuel’s burning was not primarily a punishment. It was a message. To every other Christian student in northern Nigeria. To every person who might have a voice note they were thinking about sending. The message was received. That is what the matchbox selfie was for.

Criterion Six: The Drone — What Coercive Control Produces in a Person

Every abusive system needs a supply of people who will carry out its demands without questioning them. The way you produce that supply is through what psychologists call coercive control — a systematic pattern that eliminates the target’s capacity for independent judgment by eliminating the internal structures that make independent judgment possible.

Picture a boy, eight years old. He can’t read. What he has is the madrassa — rote memorization of texts in a language he doesn’t speak, under a man he is forbidden to question. He is taught one thing above everything: submit to the chain. Allah to Mohammed to the scholars to the imam to him. Questioning the chain is not intellectual error. It is apostasy. Capital crime.

He has no direct access to God. No personal encounter. No still small voice. The entire architecture is designed to make that impossible — because a man who hears from God himself does not need the chain, and the chain cannot afford that.

What comes out of this process is not a person who has chosen a faith. It is a person whose capacity for independent moral reasoning has been systematically dismantled and replaced with reflexive obedience. When the imam tweets that the burning was justified, the drone does not evaluate that claim. He receives it. When the mob forms, he joins it — not because he has weighed the evidence and concluded that a girl deserves to burn for a voice note, but because the chain has told him so and he has no internal equipment to push back.

This is not stupidity. It is the successful product of a control system operating exactly as designed.

Criterion Seven: The Reward Structure — What the System Is Actually For

You want to know what a system is really optimizing for? Look at what it promises its most devoted followers.

According to the Sunan Ibn Majah — one of the six major canonical hadith collections, graded hasan (good) by Islamic scholars — every man admitted to paradise will be married to 72 wives and given “a male member that never becomes flaccid.”9 The martyr specifically — the man who dies fighting — is promised this in the Sunan al-Tirmidhi, graded hasan sahih (fair and sound).10 The Quran describes the women in detail: large eyes, swelling breasts, perpetually re-virginized, untouched by man or jinn.11 A separate hadith provides the believer will receive the sexual strength of one hundred men.12

I am not interpreting. I am reading the source documents.

Now ask the clinical question: what does this reward structure reveal about the system’s psychological core?

The highest possible reward — the thing that motivates a man to strap on a bomb, to drag a girl from a security room, to light the tires — is not the presence of God. It is not justice restored. It is not brokenness healed or the soul finally at home. It is an infinite brothel with an eternal erection. Seventy-two women who exist solely to be conquered. Perpetual virginity — meaning perpetual conquest, the same woman made new so she can be taken again.

This is not a vision of transcendence. It is a vision of dominance. The reward structure reveals what the system is for: the production and maintenance of male dominance, enforced through violence on earth and rewarded with infinite sexual conquest in eternity.

Mohammed himself took female captives following military campaigns — this is in the canonical biographies, not in polemics against him.13 The Quran explicitly permits sexual relations with captured women.14 The girls kidnapped by Boko Haram, raped and sold and forced into “marriages” — that is not a perversion of the system. It is the system, applied now instead of later. The paradise is being practiced on earth.

Criterion Eight: Incapacity for Remorse — Structurally Impossible

The final clinical marker. A healthy conscience experiences guilt when it has done wrong. Guilt is the signal. It is the system’s self-correcting mechanism.

This system has disabled that mechanism by reclassifying conscience-triggering acts as worship. There is no sin in killing an infidel. There is no guilt in taking a sex slave. There is no wrong in burning a girl who thanked Jesus for her grades. The moral framework has been so completely rewired that remorse is not just absent — it is structurally impossible. The acts that should trigger it have been redefined as obedience to God.

This is why each generation is more brutal than the last. A person without access to remorse cannot stop. They can only escalate — because escalation is the only alternative to the silence in which the buried conscience might speak. Boko Haram wasn’t savage enough, so ISWAP emerged. Al-Qaeda wasn’t savage enough, so ISIS emerged. The bar keeps rising because it must. The guilt is there, somewhere underneath, driving the machine. The only way to stay ahead of it is to go deeper.

It cannot self-correct. Narcissistic sociopathy never does. The one thing the pathology makes impossible is the one thing correction requires: admitting it is wrong.

The Verdict

If this were a patient, the diagnosis would be: malignant narcissistic sociopathy, operating at civilizational scale — with coercive control as its primary social mechanism, institutionalized reality distortion as its external face, and the permanent elimination of individual moral conscience as its core product.

That diagnosis does not mean every Muslim is dangerous. Most are the system’s first and most numerous victims — people whose capacity for independent faith and moral reasoning has been systematically suppressed since childhood. The first people Islam destroys are Muslims.

But it does mean that the system itself cannot be reformed from within, negotiated into moderation, or appeased into coexistence. You cannot negotiate with a narcissistic sociopath. You cannot moderate a control system by asking it nicely. The pathology makes self-correction impossible by design.

There are two things that break it. Force — which stops the behavior without changing the pathology. And the one thing the system cannot control: a direct encounter with the Living God, bypassing the chain entirely, reaching the buried conscience the ideology couldn’t quite kill.

More Muslims are encountering Jesus in dreams and visions today than at any point in history. In Iran — where conversion is punishable by death — researchers estimate that more than a million have come to Christ in the last generation. Fifty thousand of Iran’s seventy-five thousand mosques have closed.15 The system is losing people it cannot afford to lose, through a door it cannot find and cannot lock.

Pray for that. Work for that. Fund the underground churches. Protect the converts.

And in the meantime — name the diagnosis. Because a magician’s trick only works in the dark. Name it, and the power drains out of it.

Deborah Samuel knew what she believed. She said it out loud. She would not take it back. She was 25 years old and she had passed her exams and Jesus was the greatest and she was not ashamed of it.

The system sent her a message. She sent one back.

I think hers will outlast theirs.

Rise.

Notes

1 Open Doors UK & Ireland: “Jesus Christ is the greatest. He helped me pass my exams.” Per Vanguard (Nigeria), her initial response to a classmate who asked how she passed was “Jesus o.” When pressed to retract, she refused and answered with a voice note. The exact full wording of the voice note is unconfirmed, as other students declined to repeat it to media. Reported across Open Doors International, Family Research Council, Global Christian Relief, and Morning Star News.

2 Amnesty International, April 2024: the killers “faced the camera, bragged and held a matchbox.” Wikipedia (“Lynching of Deborah Yakubu”), sourced from multiple Nigerian outlets, confirms police fired tear gas but could not disperse the mob, and the killing occurred on college premises with security forces present.

3 Vanguard (Nigeria): “Deborah’s last words as she pleaded for mercy: What do you hope to achieve with this?” — quoting a witness account.

4 Sahara Reporters, May 18, 2023: “How Court Freed, Acquitted Suspected Killers of College Student Deborah Samuel After Police Prosecutors Absconded From Trial.” Suspects Bilyaminu Aliyu and Aminu Hukunci were charged with criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance — not murder — defended by 34 lawyers, and acquitted after prosecution lawyers failed to appear.

5 International Christian Concern, May 13, 2024: three churches attacked and looted in Sokoto following the arrests — Holy Family Catholic Cathedral, St. Kevin’s Catholic Church, and an ECWA church.

6 Prof. Ibrahim Maqari, Twitter, May 13, 2022. Documented by Sahara Reporters, Legit.ng, Peoples Gazette, Vanguard, and The Guardian Nigeria. Full quote on record across multiple outlets.

7 Sahara Reporters and Legit.ng, May 21–22, 2022: Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka called for Maqari’s removal and prosecution, stating he had “implicitly directed his followers to take the law into their own hands in the name of religion.”

8 Taqiyya (Arabic: تقية) — doctrinally sanctioned concealment of faith or intention from non-Muslims. Present in both Shia and Sunni jurisprudence. Documented in classical sources including Al-Nawawi’s Sharh Sahih Muslim. Raymond Ibrahim (The Al Qaeda Reader) has documented its application in political and interfaith strategy in detail.

9 Sunan Ibn Majah 4337 (Kitab al-Zuhd), sunnah.com: “There is no one whom Allah will admit to Paradise but Allah will marry him to seventy-two wives, two from houris and seventy from his inheritance from the people of Hell, all of whom will have desirable front passages and he will have a male member that never becomes flaccid.” Graded hasan (good).

10 Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1663 (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3:20:1663), graded hasan sahih: listed specifically as one of six rewards for the martyr (shaheed).

11 Quran 56:22 (large eyes); 78:33 (swelling breasts, classical tafsir); 55:56 (untouched by man or jinn); 56:35–37 (“Then We have made them virgins”). Classical commentary including Tafsir al-Jalalayn interprets re-virginization literally.

12 Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3259: the believer “will be given the strength of a hundred” in sexual intercourse in paradise.

13 Sahih Bukhari 1:5:268 and classical Islamic biography (sira) document Mohammed’s acquisition of female captives including Safiyya bint Huyayy following the Battle of Khaybar, treated as normative precedent in classical Islamic jurisprudence.

14 Quran 4:24; also 23:5–6, 70:29–30. The phrase “what your right hands possess” (ma malakat aymanukum) permits sexual relations with enslaved or captured women. Not disputed in mainstream classical Sunni fiqh.

15 Iran Muslim-to-Christian conversion estimates vary by source; figures cited by Elam Ministries, Open Doors, and Iranian government officials themselves. The mosque closure figure has been reported by multiple Iranian state sources acknowledging the crisis. Exact figures are difficult to independently verify given the clandestine nature of the conversions.
